Pupils learn about the stone age thanks to visit from Horrible Histories star
Pupils at a Suffolk primary school got the chance to experience life in the stone age thanks to a visit from a BBC Horrible Histories star.
Children at Cedars Park Primary School in Stowmarket donned stone age dress as they learned all about life in prehistoric England with Dan Shadrake from Portals to the Past.
Dan, whose TV credits include Horrible Histories and Blue Peter, is the founder of an award-winning re-enactment group and worked as one of the advisors on the hit movie Gladiator.
As part of the history workshop, the excited youngsters learned about the different animals that called the UK home thousands of years ago, as well as how stone age humans would have survived the harsh conditions.
Headteacher Aisha Suhail said: “The children had a wonderful time learning about the stone age – Dan was such an engaging speaker and the children absolutely loved it.
“To make the day extra special, the children were invited to dress up in stone age clothing.
“They looked amazing in their costumes and it made learning about the period all the more exciting.
“The children had a fantastic learning experience – and a lot of fun too.”
